Hundreds of inhabitants remain cut off from main road

DODA, Sept 29: Hundreds of inhabitants of Jasho and adjoining villages continued to remain cut off from the main road as three bridges connecting their villages got washed away due to flash floods triggered due to heavy rains last week and are not repaired till today.
The three bridges connecting villages Jasho, Seru and Dagan in Block Changa of the district got washed away last week due to flash flood triggered due to heavy rains thereby leaving hundreds of people disconnected from the main road viz town.
As these villages got disconnected, the people especially students residing in these villages are facing lot of problems.
“The students of Class 10th and 12th are the main suffers as they have to appear in their practical examination commencing next month”, the residents said.
Despite repeated request to concerned department and the District Administration of maintaining these bridges, no action has been taken till date, they added.
The residents urged District Administration and the concerned department to immediately repair these bridges on war footing so as to provide relief to them especially school going children.
They also appealed to the Governor to look into the issue and pass necessary directions to the concerned authorities for re-construction of these bridges.
