Hundreds of devotees throng Swami Atma Ram Vedanta Ashram

JAMMU, Nov 12: Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu thronged Swami Atma Ram Vedanta Ashram, Tomal Bohri near here, today to participate in the observance of Nirwan Divas of this spiritual saint of 20 th century.
On this occasion a Maha Yagya was also solemnized under the supervision of working president of the Swami Atma Ram Vedanta Trust, Hira Lal Bhat.
The Maha Yagya started yesterday evening with Kalash Puja and culminated with Puranahuti this afternoon.
After that ritual, Prashad was distributed to all devotees in attendance.
The Swami Atma Ram Vedanta Ashram, located at Gosain Gund in Anantnag district of South Kashmir , has a rich history spanning hundreds of years. The Trust has appealed to the UT Government to take urgent steps to demarcate and protect the boundaries of this historic shrine to preserve its sanctity for future generations.
People from various walks of life joined the event, paying their respects and partaking in the Prashad as a gesture of reverence.
On the occasion, scholars also threw light on the spiritual life of Swami Ji and his disciples and their contribution in disseminating the message of Vedic Dharma in Hindu society. They said the people from different parts of J&K and other parts of country including great saints used to visit this Ashram for meditation, solace and mental peace.
