MENDHAR, Mar 28: Hundreds of devotees from Mendhar, Surankote, Mandi, Poonch, Rajouri, and various other parts of Reasi and Jammu thronged the historic Ram Kund Mandir during the two-day fair (Mela) that concluded here today.
The annual fair, organized on ‘Chetar Choudas,’ witnessed massive participation from devotees who attended with deep religious fervour and enthusiasm.
The district and sub-divisional administration had made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of this grand fair. The Ram Kund Temple Management Committee, led by its Chairman 108 Mahant Shri Seeta Ram Ji, organized the event. According to the local administration, thousands of devotees visited the shrine over the two days. Several saints (Sadhus) from different parts of the state also participated, performing rituals and taking a holy dip in the sacred water.
A traditional ‘Charri Yatra’ was taken out from Hanuman Temple, Mendhar, marking the beginning of the annual fair. A large number of devotees participated in the religious procession.
Prominent figures from the local administration, Bopar Mandal, Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Vishap Hindu Parishad and the temple management committee were present during the celebrations.
Ram Kund Mela, once again, revived the religious and cultural enthusiasm in the region, drawing thousands of devotees who offered prayers with deep faith and devotion.
