JAMMU, Jan 18: Hundreds of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu today thronged the Sidhi Vinayak temple, Ganesh Vihar, Lower Muthi near, here where Pranpratishta (consecration ceremony) of Akadash Maharudra was performed in newly constructed Maharudra temple.
The consecration ceremony started at 9-30 am and culminated at 12-30 pm which was followed by serving of Prashad to devotees. The function was organised by Shree Mahaganesh Charitable Foundation, Hanand Chawalgam, district Kulgam of South Kashmir.
The Brahmins from Rishikesh performed the consecration ceremony by reciting the Vedic hymns. The function was held under the supervision of Prof O N Koul, chairman of Shree Mahaganesh Ji Charitable Foundation in close coordination with Sanjay Pandita Income Tax Officer and devoted member of the Foundation. Saints and religious scholars including Vijay Kumar Koul, secretary, Ishwar Ashram Trust, Swami Kumar Ji, Dr Sushil Wattal, Ashtosh Ji and others attended the function and gave religious discourses.
The Bhajan -Kirtan was held in the premises of temple for whole day. Earlier the Akadash Rudras were taken to holy Mahaganesh temple Lower Muthi by the devotees in a Shoba Yatra on January 12 from Janipur.
This was followed by daily Bedi Pooja (Poojas of different Kalashs) by the religious scholars and devotees from January 14 to January 17 which culminated with consecration ceremony today.
In the daily functions the devotees of Swami Ramanand Ji Maharaj of Gosanigund, Ashram, Anantnag, Swami Ashokanand Ji of Nagdandi, Achabal and Prof A K Ogra a religious scholar participated.
Among the prominent people who attended the function included Justice (retd) B L Bhat, Prof Rattan Lal Hangloo, former VC, Allahabad Central University, B L Razdan, former Income Tax Commissioner etc.
It may be recalled that both the temples were constructed on South Indian Architecture pattern. Besides, the Foundation has also constructed a grand community hall in the premises of twin temples.
