JAMMU, Dec 4: The ongoing chain hunger strike by agitating Contractual Lecturers (10+2) entered into 659th day on Tuesday as there has been no written assurance by the Government to positively consider their demand of regularization.
Abdul Jabbar Bhat, Payal Rajput, Madhiv Sharma and Kiran Bala began their hunger strike this morning and replaced the earlier batch of Contractual Lecturers amidst raising of slogans in support of their demand.
These Contractual Lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010, a Legislation passed for the regularization of all the Ad-hoc/ Contractual/ Consolidated employees.
While addressing the media persons on the occasion, Zabir Hussain Shah, vice president of the Contractual Lecturers (10 plus 2) Association, said that the Government was giving blank assurances which were of no use but mere exploitation of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers.
He reiterated that the Association would not end the ongoing chain hunger strike without logical conclusion and till their regularization as per the Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010 or according to Order No 1301 edu of 2003 or by including them in SRO 520, a new proposal moved by the Government regarding the matter.
The Association appealed Governor and his Advisor to personally intervene into the case and regularise their services.
