Hunger strike by Contractual Lecturers enters 257th day

JAMMU, Oct 28: The hunger strike of 10+2 Contractual Lecturers entered 257th day today.
While talking to media persons, Arun Bakshi President of the Association said that the present and past regimes in the State failed to redress their issues.
Bakshi stated that they are struggling to get their genuine demands of regularization as per Civil Services Special Provision Act 2010 and until they achieve their goal, they will continue their hunger strikeolidated /Temporary employees.
He stated that Ministers gave them fake and false assurances by saying that contractual lecturers will be regularized in the phased manner, but nothing has been done till date.
“It is very strange to say that females are sitting on chain hunger strike along with their kids but the Government is not paying any heed towards our genuine issue”, he stated.
He appealed to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister to intervene into the matter and redress the grievances of the Contractual Lecturers.
Satish Kumar, Anil Kumar, Saroj Bala and Sanita Koul also spoke on the occasion.
