JAMMU, June 30: The hunger strike by contractual lecturers (10+2) entered 134th day, today here at Exhibition Ground.
The protesting contractual lecturers are demanding their regularization as per the Civil services Special Provision Act 2010, a policy framed for the regularization of all the ad-hoc/ Contractual/ Consolidated employees after rendering seven years of services.
The agitating contractual lecturers raised slogans against the Government. While addressing the agitating contractual lecturers, Arun Bakhshi, president, All J&K Contractual Lecturers (10+2) Forum, said that along with Hindu, Muslim contractual lecturers are also sitting on hunger strike but despite passing of full month of Ramzan, not even a single Muslim as well as Hindu Minister shared even a single moment with these Muslim contractual lecturers sitting on the hunger strike.
Bakhshi said that they were expecting some concrete steps will be taken by the Government for resolution of their issues during this pious month of Ramzan but nothing has been done. He said if the Government kept playing with carriers of highly educated contractual lecturers, then they will be forced to adopt violent means.
