JAMMU, May 11: Kanachak police arrested a husband, who attempted to kill his wife.
As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Kanachak that a lady namely Arti Devi, wife of Ashwani Kumar of Deharan was admitted in PHC Mishriwala in injured condition.
Acting over the information, ASI Mohammad Azam was deputed to PHC Mishriwala for recording the statement of the victim.
As per statement, the lady stated that today at about 1100 hours her husband namely Ashwani Kumar with the intention of attempt to murder attacked on her head, left side shoulder and back with parthi due to which she received multiple injuries.
On her hue and cry, some locals rushed to the spot and saved her from the clutches of her husband.
As per the statement of the lady, a case under FIR Number 67/2020 under Section 307 IPC was registered at Police Station Kanachak and hunt was launched to arrest the accused.
After hectic efforts, the accused was arrested by the team of Police Station Kanachak headed by SHO Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar under the supervision of SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Suram Singh.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
