KATHUA, June 1: One person died while his wife was injured after their Maruti car met with an accident at Rani turn near Basholi on Bani -Basholi road today while negotiating a sharp curve.
The deceased has been identified as Beli Ram, son of Khem Chand an employee of Education Department and resident of Bani in Kathua district.
Police said that Beli Ram along with his wife Naino Devi and five year old child were on their way from Jammu to Bani in their Maruti car which was driven by Beli Ram himself. He hit a rock on Bani –Basholi road at Rani turn while negotiating a sharp curve and received serious head injury. His wife was also injured in the accident.
They were rushed to Sub District Hospital Basholi where Beli Ram succumbed to his injuries while his wife was undergoing treatment. However the five year child was unhurt.
The body was handed over to family members for last rites after autopsy. The Basholi Police has registered a case under Section 279-337 RPC.
