Shiban Khaibri
The captured Pakistani terrorist near Udhampur, Jammu on 5th instant, when asked as to why he was doing all that, revealed that he was doing “God’s work”. If coming all the way from Faisalabad, Pakistan to Jammu to spread mayhem, kill and destroy, was God’s work; what could be the Devil’s work then, is what the entire civilized world must, in chorus, ask Pakistan. The same wordings were vomited by Kasab in respect of 2008 Mumbai attack. The theory propounded by many who do a “postmortem” to remain highlighted as “authorities” on the subject, very often argue, that the ones taking the terror route are poor and underprivileged, stands blasted when we peep deep into the fact that the captured terrorist Usman Khan alias Naveed Ahmed alias Qasim 20, comes from a well to do family, as his elder brother is a lecturer, the other one having a textile shop and he himself having studied up to primary standard. Yaqoob Memon was a professional, a qualified CA; the ones who masterminded and executed attack on our Parliament were from economically well to do families and reasonably educated. Inversely, this fact equally lambasts the “considered view” that most of the Kashmiri youth feel alienated due to having been “neglected” by the “central governments”. If there is any reason, it is purely religious fanaticism; you call it radicalization, fundamentalism or extreme zealotry. It also contests, to a larger extent, the view also expressed because of poor political will or whatever, that a terrorist has no religion, in abstract way.
A terrorist, however, pursues a line of religious thinking, based on falling prey to high level indoctrination that he had to kill those who were (imaginary) “enemies” of his faith and did not deserve to live; every effort is expended to wean him away from believing even remotely in the concept of tolerance, respect for others’ faith, the maxim of “live and let live” or that all religions taught peace, love, compassion, high human values and all led to the same path. It is hatred, intense fanaticism and brain washing coupled with allurement of landing in (imaginary) new world, full of plenty of sensuous pleasures and all super comforts immediately after in case he got killed. And therefore killing those who were identified as his enemies including those of his faith who dared to differ with this diabolical mindset is imbibed in him as “God’s work”.
This second Kasab captured this time by the efforts of those of the brave villagers, taken captive by this Pakistani terrorist, not only snatched his rifle but pinned him down to hand over to the Police. These brave Dogra villagers need to be accorded accolades. Such lion hearted efforts everywhere by the residents, wherever these human parasites tread to defile our land, can go a long way in breaking their back bone. The twin terrorists including the one captured, martyred our two brave hearts but one of them, a young daring from Yamunagar, Haryana whose name was Rocky, played a heroic deed by single handedly fighting the two, killing one and though profusely wounded, preventing a forced entry by the other into the bus and thus saving the precious lives of as many as 44 jawans of the BSF. Our respectful “naman” to Rocky’s valour and courage, he made the country proud of his bravura.
The question, however, is as to how long shall we keep on tolerating the mishmash of proxy aggression coupled with incessant border violations of shelling, firing and troubling our border village residents, followed by crying foul and projecting of victimhood by Pakistan on the plea that its juggler vein (Kashmir) was with India ? Qabaylies (read Pakistani soldiers in disguise) of 1947-48 notoriety, continue to intrude into our state aiming at “bleeding and inflicting cuts”. That 1947 yielded Pakistan nothing is historically and factually inconsistent with the ground realities. It succeeded to annex and illegally occupy more than half of our state called as Pakistan occupied Kashmir including Aksai Chin. Its low lives barbarians in 1947 engrossed themselves in loot, plunder and mass rapes, Mirpur, Rajouri, Muzzafarabad , Baramulla being the worst affected . One of the two edifices on which lay Pakistan’s structure is spreading falsehood and canards and right from the Tribals’ raid, though it openly aided, abetted , sponsored, guided and financed the barbarian attack, it denied any role having played in the dastardly invasion.
The trucks, the arms and the ammunition used by the outlawed barbarians bore Pakistani markings. Open “stalls” operated from parts of Pakistan to collect money and material for “jihad” in Kashmir. That showed how brazenly Pakistan was and is not ashamed of spewing lies. The same approach of denial, we saw in all other terror cases, big or small dimensioned, aimed against us by this country, in particular in respect of 26/11 attack on Mumbai. Lot of dossiers, evidences, proofs, pictures, videos and what not, were sent in sufficiently adequate quantity but that country denied about even Kasab having been a Pakistani national. Thanks to Tariq Khosa, a former DIG, Federal Intelligence Agency, Pakistan whose article published in “The Dawn” not only vindicated the stand of India but exposed blatant lies of Pakistan. He aptly but forcefully advises Pakistan, “Pakistan has to deal with the Mumbai mayhem, planned and launched from its soil. The case has lingered on for far too long, dilatory tactics by the defendants , frequent change of trial judges and assassination of the case prosecutor as well as retracting from original testimony by some key witnesses have been serious setbacks for the prosecutors.” This should be an eye opener to those elements in and outside the government in Pakistan that, agreed it took at least seven years to stir the conscience of a Pakistani top Police officer, but he cracked the truth behind the Mumbai mayhem.
In the instant case that of Udhampur terror attack , Pakistanis having served as military and civil tops and forming members on the panelists on our TV Channels on 5th instant categorically ruled out the captured terrorist to be a Pakistani national like Pakistani foreign office. It seems not only ludicrous but strangely unbelievable that the captured terrorist giving all details of his antecedents, where and how much training he got in Pakistan in handling fire arms and ammunition, where from he entered our territory, where he stayed in Kashmir, how he even celebrated Eid there and how from Kulgam, he boarded a truck to reach the spot where he along with other terrorist, targeted the BSF bus, the Pakistanis are feigning innocence. It is also ridiculous on the part of Pakistan to induct its military personnel in conflicts with this country and later, not owning them when getting killed like in Kargil operations, it refused to accept as many as 2700 of its killed soldiers, to refresh the memory of the Kargil conflict thrust on us in the wake of our extending, as usual, the hands of amity, peace and friendship.
If we just go through the statistics of the last few years of terror activities indulged in by Pakistan overtly or covertly, we can visualize that it should now be made impossible for it to carry any such devilish mischief against us. The whole nation, all political parties must be more united and firm in meeting this grave challenge.
How long shall our armed forces meant to protect the people of Jammu and Kashmir get martyred by these Pakistani terrorists? How long are we only to adhere to the rules of the game sincerely? What is the fun of going ahead with NSA level talks with Pakistan or hope to rein in the saner elements, if any, to foster peace and friendship? How long shall this country afford to have sleeper cells and local support to these Pakistan sponsored saboteurs? How long so called human rights protectionists and “peace lovers” shall be allowed in this country to plead mercy and pardon for those who kill our people and damage our properties and shatter our systems? What shall we get from Track 2, 3 and other peace parleys? The CM of the state, however, has yet to speak anything on this terror attack.
