KATHUA, Dec 25: Kuldeep Singh who was released from Pakistani jail after 29 long years recently and reunited with his family in a remote village of Billawar tehsil in Kathua district does not still believe that he was released from clutches of Pak tyrants.
Talking to Excelsior today at his native village Makwal in Billawar tehsil of Kathua district Kuldeep said “My family knocked at every door to get me released from clutches of Pakistan,. I am very lucky that I came back safely , otherwise some people jailed in Pakistan never reunited with their families later”, he added.
With tears in his eyes he said “My safe release was a new lease of life to me as every movement of my life is very precious for me after reuniting with my family,. I thank every one who helped me and my family during my bad days”, he added.
Kuldeep Singh a resident of far-flung village Makwal of Billawar in Kathua district got new birth after being released from Pak jail and reunited with his family after facing the 29 years rigorous imprisonment in Pakistan Kot Lakhpat Jail. He was warmly welcomed by his family members, friends, relatives and villagers who distributed the sweets at his village. He has crossed the International Border to Pakistan mistakenly on 17-18 December 1992 from Jammu border and was arrested by the Pakistan Army . He has faced four trials in alleged spying in Pak Court and was convicted to rigorous imprisonment of 25 years in Kot Lakhpat jail in Pakistan. After the regular correspondence, legal fight by Indian High Commission with Pakistan Commission, he was released from Pakistan jail and returned to India on December 20 at Wagha border in Amritsar.
After completing all legal formalities, he was reunited with his family today. He was warmly received by his wife Urmila, son Amit and other family members.
Kuldeep Singh said that every Indian comes in net of Pakistan Army and is treated as spy and was tortured and given rigorous imprisonment and not shown any humanity. He said that only two persons from J&K are still in Pakistan jail waiting for their release, whereas 10 to 12 Indians are under treatment in Mental Hospital Pakistan as they were badly tortured by security agencies.
Kuldeep Singh said that he has got new birth in life and is very happy and hopes the bad days are gone and now he will enjoy after reuniting with his family.
