I will fight with censor board for ‘Kya Super…’ : Ekta

MUMBAI, July 20: TV and film producer Ekta Kapoor is at loggerheads with the censor board over her upcoming film ‘Kya Super Kool Hain Hum’. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, ‘Kya Super….’ had run into controversy because of its adult content as the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) gave its trailer an ‘A’ certificate.

“I feel I am censor’s favourite punching bag but I don’t blame them. The problem is that the censor board is under huge pressure. Today anyone can file a PIL on a film. They have to answer why they passed the film,” Ekta told.

The CBFC refused to show the trailer of ‘Kya Super Kool Hain Hum’ in theatres till three scenes from the film were deleted. To deal with the situation, the makers uploaded the uncut trailer on the Internet.

But the filmmaker is determined to get the three scenes back in the film.

“I want to have scenes back in the film. They are fun scenes. We have a deadline till next Tuesday or Wednesday because after that we have a release. I hope they understand our point of view,” she said.

“There are three scenes, dialogues and name changing for a character in the film and lots of other issues. When it is an adult film why is there a censorship on it as well?,” Ekta said.

The three scenes that the CBFC objected to include Anupam Kher’s spoof on late Satyen Kappu’s character from ‘Sholay’, Riteish Deshmukh commenting on female anatomy and a spoof on John Abraham’s debut home production film ‘Vicky Donor’.
