IACTS to organise CME programme on advances in thoracic surgery

JAMMU, Nov 28: Indian Association of Cardio Vascular & Thoracic surgery is organizing a two day CME program mainly attributed to advances in thoracic surgery (IACTS Thoracic CME 2024) on 30th Nov and 1st Dec.
The programme will be organised by IACTS in collaboration with Deptt of CTVS GMC Jammu and Association of North Zone Cardiothoracic Surgeons (ANZCTS).
The CME shall be attended by more than 80 thoracic surgeons who are luminaries in the field from leading institutes of the country who shall be imparting knowledge as well as skill enhancement through hand on workshops in Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery(VATS) and Vascular anatomises.
In addition, there shall be workshops on use of endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS).
The highlight of the conference shall be a Society of thoracic Surgery (STS) USA & IACTS live symposium in which an international faculty participation(Dr Jessica Donington and Dr Madhuri Rao).
The theme of the meet is “Enhancing Skills Embracing Evidence in thoracic Surgery & the CME which has been accredited by J&K Medical Council.
The organizing Secretary of this IACTS-Thoracic CME, Dr Arvind Kohli said that it is a big honour for Team Jammu to welcome cream of the fraternity of Thoracic Surgery, who shall be sharing their experience and imparting skills to the delegates and trainees.
“It is great moment to have masters of this branch to assemble and have exchange of views about the latest trends in field of Lung cancer, Lung Transplant and Lung infections and finding a way forward,” he said.
Dr Kohli highlighted the role of young thoracic surgeons, who are hitting lime lights in various parts of India notable being, Dr Rajiv Santosham, Dr Amol Bhanushali, Dr Priya Eshpuniyani, Dr Shilpa Gandhi, Dr Pallavi Purwar, Dr Bhushan Thombare, Dr Manju Nath, Dr Rama P Kumar, Dr Saaransh Bansal, Dr Ajay Narsimhan, Dr Nikhil Rane, Dr Ram Karan Chaudhary, senior Pulmonologists Amit Dhamija, Vivek Singh from Delhi, Dr Kapil Iyer from Mumbai and Cancer surgeons Dr Arvind Kumar, Dr Devyani Niyogi and Dr Ashwani Sharma are part of the elite panel of faculty attending this conference.
