IAF’s MiG-27 crashes near Barmer, pilot ejects safely

NEW DELHI : A fighter jet of Indian Air Force-MiG 27 crashed near Barmer in Rajasthan today.   The pilot of the aircraft ejected safely, IAF sources said here, adding that a search and rescue helicopter has been dispatched to locate the debris.

The aircraft took off from Jodhpur airbase and was on a routine sortie to Uttarlai airbase when the incident took place.     “The fighter aircraft crashed at 1315 hrs,” the sources said, adding that a court of inquiry has been ordered to probe the incident.
