IAP Jammu organizes scientific event on Neonatal and Pediatric emergencies

JAMMU, July 13: The departments of Pediatrics in Government Medical College Jammu and ASCOMS Hospital in association with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Jammu organized a scientific event on Neonatal and Pediatric emergencies, here today.
Dr Suraj Gupte graced the occasion as chief guest while Dr RK Goel, Dr Ashok Gupta, Dr Pavan Malhotra, Dr Sudhir Dhar and Dr JS Jasrotia were guests of honour. The Event brought together leading experts in the field to share their knowledge and insights on crucial Neonatal and Pediatric care topics.
In his address, Dr Suraj Gupte emphasized to continue providing platforms for healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and promote advancements in neonatal and pediatric care.
Dr Deepak Sharma (Consultant Neonatologist, KD Hospital) delivered an enlightening presentation on Neonatal Hypoxia and its management whereas Dr Sushil Sharma (Assistant Professor of Pediatrics ASCOMS) captivated the audience with his comprehensive discussion on Neonatal Shock and its management.
Dr Anumodan Gupta (Lecturer of Pediatrics, GMC Jammu) gave lecture on Neonatal Respiratory Distress and its management while Dr Surjeet Kumar (Lecturer of Pediatrics, GMC Jammu) shed light on the approach to a hypoxic child in a very lucid and detailed manner.
To carry forward the legacy of the late Dr Ritu Gupta who was a Professor in the Department of Physiology, GMC Jammu, “Dr Ritu Gupta Orations” were organized by the Dr Ritu Gupta Foundation in her name. Dr Jayashree Muralidharan (Professor of Pediatrics at PGIMER Chandigarh) joined through a virtual platform and spoke on the latest developments in the management of pediatric shock.
Dr Atul Gupta, a renowned pediatric endocrinologist from RPGMC Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) imparted knowledge about endocrine emergencies in children.
Dr S S Slathia, Dr Sanjeev Digra, Dr Sunil Dutt, Dr Mohd Razak, Dr K R Sangra, Dr Puspinder, Dr Ramesh Khajuria, Dr Vikas Mahajan and Dr Nira Singh were among the senior pediatricians who participated in the proceedings.
