JAMMU, Jan 1: The Government of J&K Union Territory has reminded the IAS officers for online filing of their Immovable Property Return (IPR) before January 31,2020 as failure for the same will invite disciplinary proceedings.
For submitting the IPR, an online module has already been introduced since 2017, which shall automatically close after the prescribed timeline of January 31 in respect of calendar year 2019.
Maintaining that in terms of the extant rules, the IAS officers have to necessarily file IPRs electronically as there is no provision for submission of the same manually, a Government circular in this regard reiterates that as per DoPT instruction, late submission of IPR results in denial of vigilance clearance.
The IAS officers working in connection with the affairs of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are accordingly advised to observe these instructions in letter and spirit, read the circular.
Pertinent to mention that Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, vide DO number 6(1)/2014-EO(PR dated 21st November, 2019 has referred to Rule 16(2) of AIS (Conduct) Rules, 1968, which entails that every member of the service shall submit annual IPR by 31st January of the next year, failure whereof constitutes good and sufficient reason for institution of disciplinary proceedings.
