IBM Software Lab inaugurated at SRM University

JAMMU, June 18: Vice President, CTO, IBM Asia-Pacific Christine Raetzsch inaugurated the IBM Software Lab and launched the B Tech-Computer Science Engineering with specialization in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at SRM University Haryana, Sonepat, where students, faculty and scholars participated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
After the invocation, lighting of lamp and exchange of greetings, Senthil Kumar, Director, Admission and Administration, not only welcomed the dignitaries, and the audience, but also emphasized the purpose of opening the IBM Lab in the university.
Dr P Prakash, Vice Chancellor, in his presidential address enlightened the participants about the technology-driven society and articulated that the event a remarkable one in the annals of the University for knowledge production and dissemination.
Moreover, he pointed out, with a vision of producing employable and market-ready graduates, the university continuously strives to collaborate with growing industries for equipping students for reaching highest echelons of the society.
The chief guest, Christine Raetzsch, enthralled the audience through his distinguished talk on the abundantly-used Artificial Intelligence and its techno-savvy activities to the society. He further explicated the importance of association and collaboration and expressed that the embodiment of knowledge through such programs will make some landmarks in the future.
The guest of honour, Prabhat Manocha, Client IT Architect, IBM India Private Limited expounded an informative and inquisitive special message to the students, inspiring them on the technical and research-driven global world today.
The programme was attended by Prof Samuel Raj, Dean, Academic Affairs, Directors, Deans, Controller of examinations, faculty, officials, research scholars, parents and students.
The inauguration ended with the vote of thanks by Dr Manish Bhalla, Registrar, followed by the National Anthem.
