ICccR & HRM celebrates ‘Saksham-2016’

JAMMU, Feb 25: International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, organized an impressive cultural programme, ‘Saksham-2016’ on the eve of its establishment day.
Professor R D Sharma, Vice Chancellor JU, was the chief guest while Param Veer Charka awardee Subedar Major Bana Singh, was the guest of honour on the occasion. The children from ‘Balgran’, Channi Rama, Jammu, a charitable home for destitute children, were the special guests as audience.
The cultural programme was presented by students of ICccR & HRM with much enthusiasm and fervour to mark the celebrations. Several performances in the form of traditional and western dances, songs, plays, stand-up comedy acts, games for the audience etc., were presented during the programme. The students also dedicated a short pocket film documentary on ‘Balgran’.
The small children from Balgran, between the age group of 4-15 years, who were present on the occasion, were also engaged in several games like musical chairs and balloon blowing.
Professor R D Sharma appreciated the MBA-IB students for their engagement with community in the process of integrating moral, ethical and social values with the business education. He added that cohesion and adherence to moral and ethical values with commitment are the hallmarks of social ethos, which is correctly and rigorously being promoted by ICccR & HRM.
Bana Singh said that values learnt at a young age go a long way in shaping the character of individuals, thus contributing towards nation building. He felt highly privileged to be present on the occasion with the children of Balgran and the students of ICccR & HRM.
Earlier, Professor Neelu Rohmetra, Founder Director, ICccR & HRM, JU, said that aim of the programme, besides celebrations, was to train the students to connect with the various clusters of society in their bid to develop as professionals who shall ultimately work as corporate leaders serving the communities and various stakeholders in the process. She emphasized that such events when managed by students, act as a training ground in polishing their personalities.
Students of MBA-IB, who had demonstrated their potential during the placement drives and summer internship placement, were also felicitated on the occasion.
Prof Keshav Sharma, Registrar and Dean, Faculty of Business Studies, JU; Prof V D Singh, Director DDE; Prof Pankaj Srivastava, DSW; Daud Iqbal Baba, Coordinator Campuses and Dr Vivek Sharma, Academic Coordinator, Kathua Campus, were among those present on the occasion.
Dr Pallvi Arora, Dr Amrinder Singh and Mr Dalip Raina, faculty at ICccR & HRM, were the Programme Coordinators while Varun Sharma and Priya Verma were the master of ceremonies.
