ICCR Jammu organises exhibition of creative posters at SMVDU

JAMMU, June 30: “Three Eventful Years of ICCR in Jammu”—an exhibition of creative posters supported with visual imagery organised by Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India was held today at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra.
Prof Sudhir K Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU was the chief guest on the occasion who inaugurated the exhibition with the lighting of traditional lamp and opened this weeklong exhibition for the University staff, students and the families.
Elaborating details, Regional Director of ICCR Jammu Balwant Thakur gave a detailed account of three eventful years of ICCR Jammu and said that in just three years ICCR established new International professional trends of cultural showcasing in Jammu.
Prof Sudhir K Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU after going through the entire creative exhibits on display said that the ICCR in three years has organised diverse range of programmes covering multifaceted aspects of Arts, Visual arts, Culture and Performing Traditions. Through such opportunities one is able to know the canvas and the volume of the work done and the contribution made in the development of Art and Culture by ICCR, he stated.
Among others present were Ajay Khajuria, Registrar, SMVDU, Varun Kumar Tripathi, Director Philosophy and Culture, Yugal Khajuria, Dean of Students, Dr Vandana Sharma, Director School of Languages and Vinod Sharma.
