ICCR Jammu organizes cultural show at Yatri Bhawan

JAMMU, July 6: J&K cultural show organized by ICCR Jammu with the support of J&K Tourism, Jammu mesmerized audiences here this evening at Yatri Bhawan, Jammu.
Jam-packed audience largely the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra had the life-time occasion to witness the cultural diversity of J&K presented through the scintillating and spectacular dances representing the Dogri, Kashmiri, Ladakhi, Gojari, Pahari and Bhaderwahi cultures.
Welcoming the audiences the Regional Director of ICCR, Balwant Thakur said that J&K Tourism spoke at length about the cultural strengths of the State and further informed that with the objective of showcasing the diverse range of the cultural variety of the State has entrusted the task to ICCR to devise a professional presentation which represents the entire culture essence and ethos of the State.
A beautiful bouquet of diverse cultural flowers has been artistically prepared by the Jammu artists in such a professional manner that it transports the audience to the most rejoicing cultural journey of the State and exposes them to the mind-blowing cultural shades and colors.
Starting with vibrant Kudd Dance, the programme transports the audience to Kashmir and brings before them the Kashmiri ‘Rouf’. The programme further took the audience to a most rejoicing journey of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, unfolding spectacular dance traditions of Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojari, Pahari, Bhadrewahi and Ladakhi cultures.
The programme culminated through the presentation of a mega performance ‘Unity in diversity of J&K’, exclusively designed and composed to portray the harmony and the cultural co-existence of the people of J&K.
The presentation also represents the vision of the new generation of the artists of J&K who are not only reviving the wonderful dying artistic expressions in their own way but also believe in integration of the State through cultural and artistic initiatives.
The programme is conceptualized and designed by Balwant Thakur. Rakesh Kumar Kona is the choreographer of the show whereas a team of over 30 artists and technicians are presenting this programme.
