JAMMU, Aug 25: ICCR Jammu is going to attend International Festivals in UK, France and Belgium in October this year.
This was informed here today by the Regional Director of ICCR Jammu Balwant Thakur in a press briefing at ICCR regional headquarters.
Giving details, Balwant Thakur informed that a 15-member group of artists will leave India on October 14 to have its first performance in London on October 16 at Trafalgar Square, London.
He informed that four major events in London are being locally hosted by Jammu and Kashmir Festival Trust and rest of the events are being hosted by the cultural authorities of respective Governments of UK, France and Belgium.
“A programme to showcase the cultural and linguistic diversity of the State of Jammu and Kashmir is being created which will feature the variegated variety of the music and dance traditions of J&K”, he said, adding to make the programme a class apart which will match the world standards, best of the performers are being selected by ICCR.
Balwant Thakur informed that all those dancers who can perform local dances with full professional ease may approach ICCR and may immediately mail their details to iccrjammu@gmail.com.
