ICDS, Social Welfare employees demand release of pending salary

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Jan 1: Employees working in Social Welfare and Mission ICDS in Jammu Division today demanded release of their salaries pending for last about four to six months.
The demand was discussed during a meeting of the employees held today under the banner of Non-Gazetted Employees Union Social Welfare and Mission ICDS Jammu. The employees said that due to non-payment of salaries they are facing so much hardship in running their households and to meet out their other requirements.
Further, it was also highlighted in the meeting that the authorities have adopted pick and choose policy and assigned the charge of CDPOs to some of the junior most supervisors who are appointees of the year 2009-2010 which is great injustice with the senior most and qualified supervisors who are serving in the department since last 20 to 30 years and they have been ignored from their rights of promotion by the department.
All the participants in one voice urged upon the Lt Governor of J&K and Advisor (F) In-charge of the Department to pass necessary directions to the concerned authorities of the Department for release of pending salaries of employees, streamline the salary issue of the employees working in ICDS Sector and cancellation of all orders where junior most supervisors and Senior Assistant have been assigned the charges of CDPOs.
