JAMMU, Apr 12: National CME- Gastro Medicon in association with Indian College of Physicians (ICP)- Association of Physicians India was today organized by Department of Medicines, Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
This was the first CME of ICP held in GMC Jammu and was organized by the active initiative of Dr Annil Mahajan, Head of Medicines and Member Executive Committee MCI who was also the organizing chairperson of the event. The proceedings of CME were conducted by Dr Anil K Dhar from Department of Medicines.
The CME was inaugurated by Dr Anil Chaturvedi, Representative of ICP and Prof Deepak K Bhasin, Head  Gastroenterology PGI MER Chandigarh along with Dr Ganshayam Dev, acting Principal GMC Jammu, Dr RP Kudyar, Director Principal ASCOMS, Dr Ashok Parihar, President J&K State Medical Council, Dr Rajinder Singh, former Principal GMC Jammu and Dr Sunil Sharma, first Gastroenterologist of GMC.
Various diseases of gastroenterology and liver disorder and their treatments were deliberated by eminent faculty of national and international repute including Dr Deepak Bhasin, Dr Surinder S Rana PGI MER Chandigarh, Dr Rajesh Puri and Dr Koushal Madaan from Medanta Medicity Gurgaon, Dr Sanjay Singh Negi, Dr Saleem Naik (BL Kapoor Super Specialty New Delhi), Dr Nitin Gupta (Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital New Delhi), Col. D Banerji (Command Hospital Udhampur) and Dr Bilal Khan (GMC Srinagar).
The CME was attended by nearly 400 delegates wherein latest techniques and technologies for treating diseases of gastroenterology were discussed in length.
Dr Annil Mahajan gave credit of CME to the cooperation of all faculty members and Residents of Department of Medicines, GMC Jammu.
