IDA celebrates National Dentist’s Day

JAMMU, Dec 24: Indian Dental Association (IDA), Jammu branch today celebrated National Dentist’s Day to pay tribute to the visionary, Dr Rafiuddin Ahmed, who laid the foundation of modern dentistry in India. Born on December 24, 1890, his contributions transcend time, inspiring generations to strive for excellence in oral healthcare.
To mark this occasion, IDA Jammu branch organized a dental awareness camp for the children of Surabhi Nursery School and Day Care Centre in the Department of Home Science, University of Jammu with the collaboration of the University Health Centre. In this camp, oral health of the children were examined and free samples of Colgate toothpastes were provided to them. They were also demonstrated the correct way of brushing their teeth and maintain oral hygiene.
Dr Bharat Bhushan (CMO, University Health Centre) along with the faculty and staff of Home Science Department including HoD Prof Sarika Manhas, Prof Rajni Dhingra, Prof Neeru Sharma, Prof Shashi Manhas, Prof Samridhi Arora, Mamta Singh, Seema Sharma, Neelam and Suman were present on the occasion.
IDA team comprising Dr Gautam Sharma (president), Dr Vibha Raina (secretary), Dr Payal, Dr Hemani and Dr Anshu Gupta examined the oral health of the children and gave them the tips to keep the teeth healthy.
Sumeet Gandotra from Colgate India provided the free samples of toothpaste for the camp.
