IDA delegation meets Health Minister

JAMMU, May 5: The executive members of Indian Dental Association (IDA), Jammu, today called upon the newly inducted Health Minister, Dr DK Manyal.
The delegation included Dr Gautam Sharma, president elect of IDA, Dr Vibha Raina, Dr Rajiv Mengi, ex-president of IDA and members of J&K State Dental Council, Dr Bhupinder Singh and Dr Aayush Sharma.
The delegation apprised the Minister about the unemployment issue amongst the dental surgeons. Dr Rajiv Mengi requested the Minister to look into the issue of assault on doctors and decide stringent action against the violators.
Dr Bhupinder Singh and Dr Vibha Raina raised the issue of starting the Post-Graduation (PG) in Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC). They informed the Minister that the students are paying hefty amounts to secure MDS seats in other states and if PG is started in IGGDC then it will highly benefit the students of our State.
Dr Manyal assured the delegation that immediate action will be initiated on the demands of IDA Jammu as soon as Secretariat starts functioning at Srinagar after Darbar move. He also said that all the genuine demands of doctors will be met in time bound manner but also warned that the employees in Health Department who will be found absent from their duties without prior approval will be dealt strictly.
