Education is indispensable for the physical, mental, moral and spiritual growth of an individual. It shapes and modifies the conduct of an individual in the various spheres of life. Nowadays, most of the children get opportunity to join the school and as a student they learn so many things from teachers as well as other students in their class or seniors as well as juniors. In fact, the adolescent age has strong vitality that needs to be transformed with due guidance and support. In this regard, the efforts of parents, teachers and elders can’t be undervalued. Indeed, the aim of school education is to develop the basic knowledge about the subjects such as english, science, general awareness and mathematics to develop the reasoning, language and understanding of the pupil. The higher education goes a step further by offering the specialised knowledge and skills required for different professions. In fact, the Indian value system accorded the supreme respect to the ideal student and the worthy teacher as the former is the future of the civilisation and the latter is the awe-inspiring mentor who creates the luminous future of students in particular and the nation in general fashioned by the regularity, punctuality, hard work, sincerity and commitment of the student on the one hand and regularity, punctuality, objectivity and teaching skills on the part of the teacher. An ideal student is one who:-
* Invests most of the time for the attainment of knowledge and does study with profound concentration, time management unshakable faith and iron will for success.
* Gives due respect to parents, teachers, elders and the youngsters and never use abusive language against those who nurture or teach them.
* Attains right knowledge and virtue of truthfulness in this pioneer stage in the life cycle.
* Aware about the duties, responsibilities and rights as a student and accordingly, behaves within the prescribed axioms, social norms and statutes.
* Offers the gratitude and reverence to the teacher and even remembers the teacher for the whole life.
* Possesses strong vision and quest for knowledge and wisdom from various sources.
* Remains cheerful, complacent and adores the religion, culture and the society.
* Prays to the Almighty for the wisdom, strength and courage on regular basis as without grace, human effort is too little to attain the success in different fields.
* Cares for the health by consuming the nutritious food and avoids the food which is harmful for the health.
* Particular about the physical exercises for proper functioning of the body. A combination of yogic and gymnastic exercises leads to strong body, enlarged vitality and serene mind.
* Friendship is natural at this age but the ideal student makes limited friends particularly those who are honest, straight-forward truthful and inquisitive for studies.
* An ideal student is not slave of internet rather master of it. He is not possessed by the social media sites rather uses them as a mean for the attainment of right knowledge.
* Shuns smoking, tobacco, wine and other drugs leading to grievous disorders in the functioning of the body, mind and life.
* Supports the family as need arises for the well being of parents and other family members.
* Uses the mobile phone only for a limited time keeping in mind the career and the health.
* Prepares for the exam in advance and not touched by stress during exams.
* Surrenders the fruit of the work done to the Lord and does not worry about the result.
* Moves according to the will of the Divine.
* Takes the sound sleep for at least 7 hours per night. Early to bed and early to rise is golden rule for him.
* Avoids socialisation, entertainment and TV during studies as these consume a lot of time and energy.
* The anger, lust and greed are foreign to his consciousness. Modesty and Brahmacharya are the sole strengths of an ideal student.
* Abstains from active politics during studies and believes in peaceful ambience.
An ideal student is the dedicated and cheerful individual in the society. He becomes good citizen of a nation and makes others proud of his intellectual capacity and physical vigour. Let all children become the ideal students and with their glory make India as Jagat-Guru, a supreme blissful nation with citizens having sound health, wealth, material excellence, scientific inventions and absolute harmony and co-operation.
