Hyderabad, Oct 24 : With a view to provide a boost to developing apps for the Indian Banking and Financial Sector, City-based Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) is organising the National level IDRBT Banking application Contest (IBAC) in March next year. The popularity of ‘App” or Application Software” has grown tremendously in recent years as they facilitate mobility of the user. In fact, Apps are fast becoming the preferred mode of communication and transactions. The competition aims to serve two key purposes — Indian Banking and Financial Community would get innovative ideas and apps from the best technology talent in the country and the GemNext would get an opportunity to showcase their technology talent through this platform, the Institute said. The scope of the application is limited to the banking sector and is to be developed to facilitate operations in the areas of — Apps for customers( Electronic Payment systems, Mobile Banking, Fake currency detection) , Apps for Management Business and Apps for Managing Technology, it said. The short-listed developer teams with the best apps will be invited to present their ideas to a panel consisting of senior bankers, IT professionals and academicians. The winning App, chosen by this independent panel will be rewarded by IDRBT, it added. (UNI )
