Srinagar, Feb 1: Security forces this evening averted a major tragedy by recovering and defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Shopian in South Kashmir.
Shopian Police and 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Army recovered a 10 kilogramme IED near Balpora in Shopian.
The IED was concealed in a tin can and was planted near the road. A Bomb Disposal Squad was rushed to the spot and the IED was defused.
