JAMMU, May 17: The Institution of Engineers (India), Jammu Centre celebrated World Telecommunication & Information Society Day today at Institutional Complex, Channi Himmat, Jammu by holding a seminar on theme topic “Enabling the positive use of Artificial Intelligence for all”.
The seminar was attended by a large number of Senior Engineers, Engineers & officers from BSNL and other departments, organizations.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister for Power Development, J&K Government, graced the occasion as chief guest. Kulbhushan Sharma, GM, (EB & Marketing) BSNL Jammu & Kashmir, was the guest of honour.
At the outset of the function, Er Ravi Chanyal, FIE Chairman, IEI, Jammu Centre, appraised the audience about the theme and thanked the Govt. for approving ACP for the engineers and submitted for consideration of regularization of engineers at all levels.
Six technical papers on the theme topic were presented by Er S C Thukral, FIE; Er B L Rawal, MIE; Er Vinod Kumar, MIE; Er Sunil Seth, MIE; Er Sachin Tickoo, MIE and Er Mir Muneer Hussain. MIE on the theme topic “Enabling the positive use of Artificial Intelligence for all”.
Kulbhushan Sharma said that there are countless applications of artificial intelligence in every walk of life and AI is going to be a major aspect in transforming Jammu into a smart city.
Sunil Kumar Sharma, Minister, interacted with the senior engineers and appreciated the efforts of Engineers. In his address, he stressed upon them to put their best efforts to provide power and benefits of artificial intelligence and telecommunication to the remotest area of the State. He also urged the engineers to put in their best for providing 24 x 7 power in the State.
