JAMMU, May 19: The daily rated workers of Irrigation and Flood Control and TRIC wings of the Jal Shakti Department today held protest demonstration in support of their demands at Irrigation complex Canal Road here today.
The daily rated worker under the banner of All Daily Wagers Association RTIC, I&FC assembled at the Irrigation complex Jammu in the morning and started protest demonstration. They are on protest dharna for the last 16 days.
They are demanding regularization of all the daily wagers and release of wages of many workers. They pointed out that many of them have rendered more than 20 years of service and working with dedication. The Government has not taken any initiative for their regularization. A large number of them have not been paid their wages. Many families are facing starvation due to non-payment of their wages and arrears.
They have urged upon the LG’s administration to regularize their services and also release pending wages of the workers. They said their protest dharna will continue till their issues are resolved.
