SRINAGAR, July 10: Government today appointed Asaf Mehmood Sagar, IFS, as Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission.
The 1992 AGMUT cadre officer shall hold the position of the Member, PSC, till he attains the age of sixty two years, according to a Government order.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 93 of the Jammu and Kashmir Re-organization Act, 2019, read with S.O. 3937 (E) dated 31st October, 2019, and Order issued in terms of sub-clause (i) of clause (c) of the Proclamation issued by the President dated 31 October, 2019, the Lieutenant Governor of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir is pleased to appoint Asaf Mehmood Sagar, IFS (AGMUT:1992), as Member of the Public Service Commission for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the order said, adding, “he shall hold the position of the Member, Public Service Commission, till he attains the age of sixty two years.”
His appointment shall take effect from the date he assumes the office, the order added.
