JAMMU, Dec 24: Inspector General (IG), Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu Frontier, Rakesh Sharma flagged off Bharat Darshan tour comprising of 40 students from remote areas of Jammu region, a lady teacher and BSF staff.
The 20 days tour organized by BSF Jammu will provide an opportunity to young 20 boys and 20 girls of the age 12 to 16 years to see rich heritage of the country. 21 students belong to Poonch and Rajouri districts whereas rest belong to the tehsil Sunderbani, Ramban and Jammu districts.
The aim of this camp is to motivate a sense of nationalism and scientific temperament among the youths.
In the initial phase of the tour, students will attend the National Integration Camp at Rajkot in Gujarat where about 1600 children from various part of the country are expected to be present. They will also visit various tourist places in Ahmedabad including Science City, Sabarmati Ashram and Akshardham temple and will also meet CM of Gujarat. The children will also visit Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri during their visit to Agra.
During their stay in National Capital Delhi, the children will meet Union Home Minister and DG BSF. The interaction with various dignitaries in National Capital and ride in metro train as well as visit to Parliament, Red Fort, India Gate and other prominent places will be exciting movement for the children. After three day visit to Delhi, they will reach Amritsar to see Golden temple, Jaliyanwala Bagh and witness Wagah Border parade ceremony.
Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu Frontier who was the chief guest on the occasion, told that in the past also BSF Jammu Frontier had organized such Bharat Darshan tours for students of remote areas of Jammu region. So far BSF had sent 14 tours to Northern, Central and Southern State and 538 students have availed this opportunity.
IG BSF Jammu told the students about the importance of such study tours which inculcate national feelings and national integrity besides giving them exposure of Indian heritage and culture.
