SRINAGAR, Mar 18: The Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani today reviewed the functioning of the Police Department soon after taking took over as IGP, Kashmir.
Gillani interacted with the senior police officers of Srinagar and other districts. He was posted as IGP Kashmir in the Sunday’s police reshuffle.
Gillani, a 1994 batch IPS officer, is an alumnus of Sainik School, Manasbal. Besides, serving the State in various important capacities including IGP Crime, SSP Srinagar, AIG(P), he held important posts in Central Bureau of Investigation.
He has been awarded with many medals including Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2012, Indian Police Medal for Gallantry and Sher-i-Kashmir Police Medals for Meritorious Service and Gallantry.
