JAMMU, Sept 13: The Post-Graduate Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu organized a screening cum restorative dental camp at SPMR College of Commerce.
The Camp was organized in collaboration with Dr Surinder Kumar (Principal, Government SPMR College of Commerce), Dr Parvern Singh (HoD Computer Sciences), Ramnik Singh (president, Rotary Club), Balvinder Singh (secretary, Rotary Club) and Dr Dushyant Chowdhary (past district governor, Rotary Club Jammu Tawi).
The staff and Students of SPMR College along with Rotarians were screened for oral conditions like Caries and on spot restorations were performed and medication were distributed to the needy people by the specialist faculty members of the Conservative Dentistry under the guidance of Dr Azhar Malik (Prof and HoD).
The well attended dental camp was meticulously planned, arranged and organized by Dr Azhar Malik and Dr Shamim Anjum (Assistant Prof and Incharge Dental Specialty Camp). Dr Ajay Gupta (Associate Professor), Dr Sachin Chadgal (Lecturer), Dr Sangeeta Bhagat, Dr Taniya Jandial, Post Graduate students Dr Insha Shafi, Dr Sadiya Anayat and Interns Dr Insha Ilyas and Dr Muskan bakshi examined the visiting patients and performed on spot restorative procedures.
The off-campus activities were executed under overall guidance and direction of Principal and Dean of IGGDC Jammu Dr Rakesh Krishan Gupta who has always encouraged such activities. He said this camp is in continuation of the series of dental restorative camps organized to encourage and emphasized the importance and maintenance of overall health of public.
