IGGDC holds special camp on World Endodontic Day at JU

JAMMU, Oct 17: Post Graduate Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontic of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Azhar Malik, Head of the Department organized a dental specialty camp as part of World Endodontic Celebration here today at Jammu University.
The graduate and postgraduate scholars of Sports Department of Jammu University were apprised about the common maxillofacial injuries in contact sport as well as others for its emergency management and measures needed to save the teeth of young people.
The postgraduate students Dr Insha Shafi and Dr Sadiya Anayat presented powerpoint presentations about the common facial sports injuries. Faculty members, Dr. Rachna Dhani delivered a lecture on preventing and managing common oral and dental diseases.
There was a rich session of queries which was responded to by faculty members Dr. Shamim Anjum, Dr Ravinder, Dr. Saksham, Dr. Rakhi, Dr Insha and Dr. Haider and common questions of students were replied with emphasis on care and prevention.
The event was chaired by Dr. Azhar Malik, HoD & Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director and HoD Sports, University of Jammu. The day was observed with a series of activities and events highlighting dental trauma management related to sports under the guidance of Dr. Azhar Malik, Prof. & HoD. The programmes were organized under the overall supervision of Principal & Dean Indira Gandhi Govt. Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu Dr. Rakesh Gupta who has always encouraged these types of programmes for the dental awareness (Endodontic) among general masses for upliftment of infection free oral environment among people.
