DODA, Nov 7: Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC), Jammu organized a dental checkup camp at Bhaderwah Campus of the University of Jammu (JU).
The camp was organized in collaboration with Business School, Bhaderwah Campus under the guidance of Dr Rakesh K Gupta (Principal and Dean IGGDC Jammu), with an objective to improve the oral hygiene in remote and far flung areas.
DDC Chairman Doda, Dhananter Singh Kotwal inaugurated the camp. Prof Rahul Gupta (Registrar JU and Rector Bhaderwah Campus), Dr Sunil Bharadwaj (HoD, Business School), Dr Umesh Choudhary (Senior Assistant Professor) and Mujeeb Sheikh (Assistant Registrar) fully supported in organizing the camp.
The dental team led by Dr Rakesh K Gupta stressed upon prevention of oral and dental diseases with use of effective oral hygiene practices, avoidance of sticky and carbohydrate rich diet, and taking raw fruits and vegetables as well as balanced diet
Dr Iqbal Singh (HoD, Public Health Dentistry), Dr Ritesh Gupta (Registrar, JK Dental Council) and Dr Manisha Koul (Demonstrator, PHD) along with interns conducted thorough examinations, identifying potential oral health issues and providing guidance on proper oral hygiene practices.
Through interactive sessions, students were made aware of the oral hygiene measures and prevention of oral diseases.
