JAMMU, Mar 2: The Indira Gandhi Open University (IGNOU) has introduced a plethora of new distance learning programmes for the January 2023 admission cycle.
The University in a handout issued here, today said the School of Humanities, IGNOU has launched a new programme B.A. in Applied Urdu (BAAUD) in addition to the already existing programme of Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Urdu (BAUDH), which will be offered from the January 2023 admission session.
The eligibility criteria for the programme is 12th and the minimum and maximum duration of the programme is three and six years respectively. The other new UG and PG programmes have been added to the list includes, BA Gender Studies, three new PG programmes in Journalism, four new PG programmes in Management, MA in Environmental Studies, MA in Russian, MA in French, PG Diploma in Geo-informatics, PG Diploma in Environmental Management and Law, PG Diploma in Early Childhood and Foundation Stage Education, etc.
In addition to these newly launched programmes, the University offers almost 300 programmes in various other disciplines at the UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma, Certificate, PG Certificate, Appreciation and Awareness Level programmes and over 40 online programmes.
While highlighting the unique features of the IGNOU Programmes, Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, Regional Director IGNOU Regional Centre Srinagar said that the programmes are in compliance with the requirements of NEP 2020 in terms of quality, accessibility, equity and affordability.
He said that the last date of fresh admission and for re-registration for all the programmes offered in ODL/Online mode by IGNOU for January 2023 has been extended till March 10 this year.
