IGNOU Term-End Exams begin across Jammu region

JAMMU, Dec 1: The December 2023 Term-end Examinations of the Indira Gandhi National Open University for various Academic Programmes offered by the University smoothly commenced from today and will conclude on 9th January 2024.
The University has established 849 Examination Centres across the Country. Under the Jammu Region, 30 Examination Centres have been established out of which 27 Examination Centres are regular Exam Centres and three Examination Centres in District Jail Kathua, District Jail Ambphalla and Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu exclusively for Jail inmates.
A total of 29,868 eligible students who have filled their examination forms under the Regional Centre Jammu are appearing in the exams in 1,54,825 sittings in the Examination Centres spread across the region.
The examinations are being conducted in two sessions every day. The morning session starts from 10AM till 1PM and the evening session starts from 2PM to 5PM. There would be no examination on Sundays and Govt gazetted holidays.
A Flying Squad team from the Regional Centre Jammu, comprising of Dr Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director Incharge and Dr Asha Upadhyay, Assistant Regional Director, visited the Exam Centres at Central Sanskrit University, Kot Bhalwal, KC College of Education, Govt College of Education, GGM Science College and Govt Degree College, Kunjwani, Jammu as a surprise check today and found the examinations being conducted in a fair and smooth manner.
A Flying Squad team from the Regional Centre Jammu under the leadership of S Tejinder Pal Singh, Deputy Registrar, visited the Examination Centres at Bhargava Degree College Samba and Govt Degree College Kathua.
A Flying Squad team from the Regional Centre Jammu under the leadership of Dr Vikram Singh, Assistant Regional Director visited the Examination Centre established in the Govt Degree College Akhnoor for a surprise check.
Dr Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director Incharge, informed that the examinations are being conducted smoothly across the region on the basis of feedback obtained from the Examination Superintendents and other field functionaries.
