IGP discusses arrangements for Annual National Police Day function

JAMMU, Oct 11: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Dr SD Singh chaired a meeting of senior police officers here today to discuss various arrangements required to be made for the National Police Day popularly known as Police Commemoration Day which is being observed on October 21 every year across the country.
The main function will be held at Police Martyrs Memorial, Rail Head, Jammu followed by National Police Day Parade at Gulshan Ground, Jammu. Rich tributes will be paid to all the martyrs of police force who made supreme sacrifice in line of duty for unity and integrity of India. Besides, a blood donation camp will also be organized after the Commemoration Day Parade is over at Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
IGP Jammu Dr SD Singh directed the officers to put in their best to ensure adequate security arrangements at the venues for smooth conduct of National Police Day function.
He said as usual this year the Day would be as observed as “National Police Day” on October 21. He asked the senior police officers present in the meeting to spread awareness among the people regarding the importance of the day. He also exhorted the participants to ensure participation of police personnel as well as general public in large number on the day to acknowledge the sacrifices made by the martyrs and also to pay the homage to the martyrs.
The meeting was attended by DIG JSK Range, SSP Security, SSP PCR, SSP Railways, SSP Traffic (City ), Staff officer to IGP Jammu, Commandant IRP 10th and 14th Battalion, SP Jammu, Additional SP Crime Jammu, all territorial SSPs of Jammu district, SP Telecom Jammu, DySP DAR DPL, DySP SDRF Jammu, DySP APCR and Estate Officer Jammu.
