JAMMU, Jan 1: With a view to take a review of the crime position vis-à-vis the investigation work of Crime Branch Jammu during the year-2019, a crime review meeting was held by M.K. Sinha, IGP Crime Branch, Jammu at Zonal Crime Headquarters Crime Branch, here today.
While appreciating the good-work of investigation conducted by the IOs of Crime Branch, Jammu during the year 2019, thrust was laid on exploring the scope of investigation of criminal cases on scientific and other modern methods of present times.
The IOs attending the meeting were sensitized to the issue of importance of technology in the investigation of crime on scientific lines and orientation of IOs in developing skills for that purpose.
The other issues that came to fore in the meeting include cyber crime investigation and cyber forensics, mobile forensics, economic offence, NDPS, homicide, role of canines and photography in the investigation.
The other officers present in the meeting were Shailender Singh, SSP Crime Branch, Jammu, Aftab Ahmed SSP Staff Officer to IGP Crime, Maroof Manhas, DDP CHQ, Bhopinder Singh CPO Crime Branch, Jammu, besides other IOs of the ranks of DySPs, Inspectors, SI, ASIs and other staff.
