JAMMU, Nov 15: IGP Jammu zone Dilbagh Singh today ordered in-situ promotion of 84 Followers and next higher grade for three Followers.
An official handout said during 2011 in which record number of 395 ASIs, 665 Head Constables and 442 Selection Grade Constables were given functional promotion and one ASI, 384 HCs, 1195 SGCs and 119 Followers were given in-situ promotion. Also, 36 officials were promoted to the next rank out of turn while 90 Special Police Officers (SPOs) were converted as constables/Followers.
Keeping in view their operational performance in the year 2012, 92 SIs, 219 ASIs, four HCs and three SGCTs were promoted to next higher rank.
The promotions have boosted morale of the police force, Mr Singh said.
