JAMMU, Mar 19: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone, Bhim Sen Tuti, today visited several Border Outposts (BOPs) in the Hiranagar sector of Kathua and Samba districts to assess security preparedness along the International Border (IB).
As per a statement, the IGP Jammu visited key locations like BPP Sanyal in Hiranagar, Chakra, Mawa, Babber Nallah, Sherpur, and Harya Chak.
During his visit, IGP Tuti met with officers and personnel to review security measures and deployment strategies to address potential threats.
He focused on ensuring a strong security setup and resolving operational challenges faced by the forces.
The review included discussions on surveillance systems, such as CCTV cameras, and emphasized better coordination between Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Border Security Force (BSF).
The IGP also evaluated border infrastructure, including roads, fencing, and communication networks.
He stressed the need for constant vigilance, intelligence-sharing, and proactive measures to prevent infiltration, smuggling, and other cross-border issues.
While acknowledging the dedication of the personnel working in tough conditions, IGP Tuti promised full logistical support.
He instructed officers to improve night patrols, stay alert, and use advanced technology to enhance border security.
