JAMMU, Aug 4: A joint meeting of senior officers of Security Forces/Police/ Security/Traffic/Intelligence Agencies/Civil Administration was convened by IGP Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar, in Zonal Police Headquarters to discuss security measures in the run up to 15th August.
Besides detailed intelligence assessment by State and Central Intelligence Agencies, DIG JK Range Shakeel A.Beig, SSP Traffic, SSP Jammu and SSP Security gave a detailed account of the security arrangements that have been put in place in the run up to 15th August in and around Jammu City including border areas. Similarly, the concerned officers of civil administration gave a detailed account of the arrangements they have put in place for celebrations of 15th August.
Detailed deliberations were held on all the points concerning parade contingents, preparation of venue, anti-sabotage checks of the venues, barricading, traffic arrangements in the city and at the venue, fire services, medical facilities and other contingencies for Independence Day celebrations. Detailed instructions were issued on spot to the concerned officers for further follow up action on certain points requiring further action.
IGP Jammu while expressing his satisfaction over the arrangements being put in place and proposed to be made, asked the officers to work in close coordination with each other for greater synergy as the goal is common. He asked the Intelligence Agencies, Police and SFs Officers to step up vigil and security in the District right from now onwards to check any attempt of infiltration, movement of anti-national elements and forestall any ill-conceived plan of terrorists.
A detailed review of the prevailing security scenario, throughout Jammu zone, was also taken. The intelligence agencies also give their assessments about the prevailing situation.
The meeting was attended by Kuldeep Dhar, IG CRPF Jammu, Surrinder Gupta DIG, CID, Jammu, Shakeel. A. Beig ,DIG, JKS Range, Jammu, Vijay Singh Sambyal DIG IRP, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu DC Jammu, Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu, Varinder Sharma, SSP CID SB Jammu, Vivek Gupta, SSP Reasi, S.J.S.Johar, SSP PCR ,Jammu, Anil Mangotra, SSP Samba, Ramesh Angral, SSP Security Jammu, Shalinder Singh, SSP CID CI Jammu, Pawan Parihar, SSP Traffic Jammu, Sham Sunder, SSP APCR, S.D.P Singh, SSP Telecom Jammu, SP OPS Jammu representatives’ from 16 core, 26 Div. and BSF, besides, Zonal SP’s of district Jammu also participated in the meeting.
Later, IGP Jammu interacted with all district SSPs which include SSP Kishtwar, Kathua, Poonch, Udhampur, Ramban and Doda through Video Conferencing and reviewed their preparedness for 15th August, celebration. Detailed instructions were given to strengthen the security grid.
