JAMMU, June 19: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh today reviewed the arrangements for forthcoming Shri Amarnath yatra.
The arrangements were reviewed in the meeting, which was attended by Army, PMF, intelligence agencies and Jammu based Police officers.
During the meeting, detailed briefing was given by the officers of intelligence agencies, Army and police with regard to security arrangements to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the 58 days long yatra. All the officers of Army, PMF, intelligence agencies and local police have been directed to maintain highest level of alertness and synergy among themselves and also to share the intelligence related to SANJY on real time basis so that the nefarious designs of ANEs and their mentors across the IB, can be thwarted.
IGP Jammu Zone also stressed upon the officers to organize night patrolling on National Highway regularly and maintain close cooperation with all forces deployed in their area of jurisdiction. Dr Singh impressed upon district SSPs concerned to ensure adequate police and security in their respective districts particularly at Base Camp Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, langers, lodgment centres and en-route during 58 days long Shri Amarnath yatra.
On the border management front, IGP stressed upon the officers of the border districts to lay joint nakas and ensure patrolling on all the probable infiltration routes. He also directed to strengthen and active all Border Police Stations and Police Posts and nakas so as to neutralize any attempt of infiltration by terrorists from across IB or LoC.
The other officers who attended the meeting included IG Armed Jammu, DD (IB) Jammu, DIG JSK Range, DIG CRPF Jammu Sector, SSP Jammu, SSP Security Jammu, SO to IGP Jammu, SSP PCR Jammu, Commandant, 160 Battalion CRPF, Commandant, 38th Battalion CRPF, Commandant, BSF Frontier Headquarter, Jammu, etc.
