IIJSA holds Dogra intellectual meet

JAMMU, July 18: The International Institute of J&K Studies and Analyses (IIJSA) Jammu organized a Dogra intellectual meet, here today.
The Meet was chaired by Dogra veteran Major General (Retired) Goverdhan Singh Jamwal. In his address, Goverdhan Singh Jamwal stressed the need for research on Dogra history and legacy. He also indicated that Dogras must formalize the research of Saurabh Pathania, who has researched 7000 years of Dogra history. He said that the same should be converted into the class room curriculum for the schools and taught formally.
Earlier, presenting welcome address, Brigadier (Retired) Dr Vijay Sagar Dheman (convener, IIJSA Jammu) emphasized on the need for all Dogras of Duggar Pradesh to come forward and fight the inimical forces out and out to destroy the Dogra culture, traditions, language and cuisine etc. He stressed on the need for all Dogras to come under one banner and demand Jammu State with Art 371 to preserve the Dogra identity.
Manu Khajuria, convener of ‘Voice of Dogra’– a London based Dogra foundation, emphasized the need for Dogras to be in power politically so as to undo the 75 years of Kashmir centric anti-Dogra campaign. She said that the same will strengthen the roots, preserve the Dogra identity, culture, art, heritage, cuisine and music etc.
The Meet was also addressed by Colonel (Retired) Sushil Pathania (president, Sainik Samaj Party), Saurabh Pathania (Dogra historian), Colonel (Retired) Sanjay Jamwal, Jagmohan Sharma, Colonel (Retired) Virender Sahi, Ajay Khajuria, Joginder Singh, Jatinder Pal Singh and Abhiraj Singh from Oxford University London.
While summing up Brigadier Dr Vijay Sagar Dheman assisted by Vishal Thapa and Rakesh Singh, said that today’s meet has concluded that if Dogriathas to resurrect and it has to touch new glories which were its forte in the past, the Dogras have to come under one banner of Dogra party displaying Dogra Swabhiman.
