IIM in Jammu

Sir,
That the Central Cabinet has approved establishment of an IIM in Jammu is really a welcome step for Jammu people and at the same time Central Govt has also approved and taken steps for an out campus of IIM in the Kashmir region there by taking into consideration the interests of both the regions. Decision has been highly appreciated by both the PDP and Congress although resentment has been expressed by Omar Abdullah ex CM and termed the move as “Blatant partisan politics”. However, it can be safely said that the Jammu division has often been ignored in many sectors. There is a vast and ample scope of setting up of tourists resorts especially in Bhadarwah, Doda, Chenab Valley, Mantalai, Jammu and Poonch areas.  It is only for the last 26 years that the Jammu division has got some semblance of development in all the fields. Many far flung areas in Jammu  are still without electricity and road connectivity. In the fields of medicare, agriculture, education, floriculture and other allied wings, Jammu province is still far behind when compared to Kashmir division. Anyhow without going into the details of divisional imbalances of development in all fields, all the three divisions of J&K State need to be given equal preference in order to bring back the State on the pedestal of progress and prosperity and  to get back the pristine glory of being ”paradise on the earth”. The leaders and politicians also need to think of the overall progress of the State and not think in terms of component parts of the State.
Yours etc….
