IIMC students engage in hands-on learning with Prof Upadhyay

JAMMU, Feb 13: Students from the digital media course at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Jammu, delved into the realm of emerging technology with practical training today.
Professor Nitin Upadhyay, Chairperson of Information Technology and Services (ITS) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu, engaged with the students, shedding light on marketing strategies and their evolution through emerging technology.
During the interactive session, Prof Nitin Upadhyay provided both practical demonstrations and theoretical insights into the strategies employed by digital media giants, emphasizing the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their operations. He underscored the significance of data and algorithms in today’s market landscape.
In addition, Prof Nitin Upadhyay explored the concept of user reviews and their contribution to the exponential growth of digital media giants such as Facebook, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft, propelling them towards a trillion-dollar economy. He articulated how user-generated content fuels these platforms’ dominance in the market.
The lecture also delved into the merits and demerits of user reviews, along with their psychological and emotional impact on the market.
Prof Nitin Upadhyay elucidated on various aspects, including the genres and sub-genres of movies showcased on Netflix and the strategic pairing of products in digital marketing on Amazon.
The enthusiastic participation of the students from IIMC, Jammu, underscored their keen interest in gaining insights into emerging technologies.
Dr Vinit Kumar Jha Utpal, Course Coordinator for Digital Media, was also present, further enriching the session with his expertise.
