IIT Jammu announces winners of UBA’s competition

JAMMU, Aug 18: IIT Jammu -Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’s Regional Coordinating Institute (RCI) for Jammu and Ladakh Region, announced winners of Poster and Video Making Competitions.
Two of three winners in the Video making category used Dogri as the language medium in their COVID-19 awareness videos.
The Poster and Video making competitions were held in the month of July to create a repository of COVID-19 awareness creatives in regional dialects and languages which can then be used for dissemination in rural India.
Two winners, out of the three, chose Dogri as their language medium in the Video Making Competition. These videos can help raise COVID-19 related awareness in Dogri-speaking villages, towns, and cities.
Nivedita Kher, a student from SMVDU won the Poster Making competition followed by Rohit Kumar and Sonal Kotwal from Government Polytechnic Boys, Jammu and MAM College respectively.
In the Video making competition, Avleen Kour Janvi of GGM Science College, Jammu came in first followed by a group video by Girinder Kumar and Girish Kumar in second place and Riya Verma in third, representing Government Polytechnic Boys, Jammu and MAM College respectively.
Winners of these competitions will now compete in the national competition, coordinated by IIT Delhi.
