JAMMU, Oct 12: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu) has taken a momentous step in strengthening international academic collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DAAD Germany (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst/ German Academic Exchange Service) to facilitate faculty exchange programs between IIT Jammu and German Higher Education Institutes.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the German Embassy in New Delhi and marked a significant milestone in fostering educational partnerships. Prof Manoj Singh Gaur, Director of IIT Jammu, and DAAD Deputy Secretary General, Dr Michael Harms, formally exchanged the MoU documents, solidifying the commitment to enhancing academic exchanges between the two nations.
This collaborative effort underscores the shared commitment of India and Germany to strengthen their ties in higher education. Following the MoU exchange, a productive roundtable discussion took place, focusing on strategies to promote joint academic activities, including internships, dual degree programs, and credit transfers.
The German Ambassador to India, Dr Philipp Ackermann, also graced the event with his presence, highlighting the significance of this academic collaboration.
