JAMMU, May 13: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu today provided face shields developed by the students of the Institute to ASCOMS Hospital, Sidhra in Jammu.
Continuing its noble initiative of providing low-cost PPEs to Army, Police, CRPF and healthcare workers, a team of IIT Jammu comprising Prof Chandan Ghosh, Dr Vijay Pal, Dr Neha Sharma and Dr Karunika with some student volunteers visited ASCOMS Hospital to handover the PPE face shields.
Prof Chandan Ghosh and Dr Vijay Pal discussed the underlined principles and features with hospital staff. Few face shields were handed over to Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS Hospital for getting feedback for future development of the product.
These face shields can be manufactured in a large number as injection molding was adopted to make the light weighted components of this PPE. Dr Karunika and Dr Neha told the ASCOMS team regarding the upcoming developments in Positive-Pressure Respiratory System (PPRS), UV sanitization chambers, and some other products which will be delivered to them as soon as they are developed.
